Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

This is my take on the sketch, I've included my journalling because it relates to the terrible weather that QLD had on the day we picked up our new caravan.

The above photo was exactly where we felt dry and were looking forward to a good sleep after a tiring day.
I love the new Zva bling I won on their blog hop, it peels off and sticks really easily.

Creative Scrappers #205

I've used Kaisercraft K-Bots paper for this layout of my son when he was just 18ths old (many years ago).  I've also used Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets, felt, cork, puff paint, Kaisercraft rub-on, Fiskars border punch and some hand drawn stitching.  The title of this layout is my sons initials.

Liebster Blog Awards

I hadn't heard of this ‘award’ and tried to find out more about it…. but ran into a dead end.
Liebster Award
It's very difficult to find out where it originates or how it started.  So, my conclusion is that it's a chain mail type of thing, and has just continued to go round and round since it started!  Sounds threatening in one sense. However, when you stop and get over the ‘threatening’ bit what’s the harm?  It is all about being nice to five other bloggers.  Hopefully that’s all!  Just sharing the love!
I hope I haven't offended anyone because I've always had a rule for myself not to be involved in chain mail and yet I sent this award to five lovely people before I decided to look into it - didn't find anything but may not do it again...

The Color Room #107

This is my take on the beautiful color palette from the Color Room.  I've used Rusty Pickle Pop Star and Kaisercraft Shaken not Stirred paper.  Also used is a ScrapFX arrow with Allison Ellis glitter.  I handmade the windmills and twisted and tied the handles our of mesh as is used in the flower with muslin behind.  In the flower is a truck eyelet and a handmade stickpin.  The mesh at the bottom has some beautiful heart shaped lace given to me by Amy from the Netherlands.  I hand coloured some of the text and arrows with a sharpie pen and a Marvy Le Plumme II pen, also hand drawn across the page are the little red circles.  The buttons are from my stash.

Scrap Africa Sketch #4

This is my interpretation of Sketch #4, my title is a bit longer than the one word.  This photo is of my children about 30 years ago.
And now a close-up of the journalling and embellishments.

Frosted Designs Sketch #39

I scrapped this page of my mum's first wedding using DCWV Linen Closet stack and ironically the lace border is from my friends linen cupboard - it's an old table napkin that I cut the centre out.  The flower in top right hand corner was also stitched onto the napkin.  I used Green Tara flowers and a handmade chiffon one of mine along with a stickpin I made. And now for a couple of close-ups.

White with One

This is of my mum Eileen when she was around 19 - 21 years old, quite the pose...
I'm disappointed how the colours show up because they are quite lovely stampin' up papers in a pale grey and white. The large butterfly is from Amy, part of her giveaway I received.
Now for a couple of close-ups of my handmade flowers and stick pin (made by me), the flowers are dark grey sateen fabric given to me by a very close friend.  In real life they are so shiny and look gorgeous, the centres are decorative brads from stampin' up.
This one is of one of the little trinkets that Amy sent me, I think it's beautiful.
And here's a close-up of the photo.

Bird is the Word April Challenge

I've used Kaisercraft English Rose Collection paper for this project.
The larger flowers are Tim Holtz dies which have been sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmermist and then distressed and rolled after inking with Versa Color and Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The centres are ribbon roses and I handmade the pin poking from behind the flowers at the top of the page.
I embossed the chipboard frame before adding gesso and ink.  The little scroll has been sprayed with glimmermist, inked and rolled with a wooden stick.  The key is from Stampin' Up and I handmade the stick pin.
I used a very old piece of dressmaking tape measure for the date and placed it on an inked doily.  I cut a journalling block in half and inked it before placing behind the photo.  There's also a piece on the opposite side of the photo.  I have hidden the journalling on an inked tag under the photo.  I've also used Kaisercraft rhinestones for this page along with some medical gauze.
This is me at 18 years of age so it was a very long time ago and I was quite naive at the time - all I wanted was to be married and have four children.  I did have two children and I now have two step children as well so a total of four !!!

Sketches with a Twist April Challenge

As you can see I've rotated the sketch to suit my LO.
I had a lovely mesh stamp in my collection so decided to use it rather than a piece of actual mesh.  I wanted to do a masculine page so used these photos that were taken on a friends dairy farm.  The page is on Kaisercraft paper with some stitching with twine.  These photos always remind me of good times on the farm and as you can see the scenery is beautiful.

My Daughter and Step-daughters

I haven't entered anything for a little while so thought I would share a couple of  pages I did of my daughter and step-daughters.

Gorgeous girls I think... The pages are from eldest to youngest.  My daughter is the eldest and is pictured with her eldest son at her wedding.
