No Motivation

I can't seem to get into anything much today, just can't get motivated so I thought I would give another tag a go and see what frame of mind it would get me into.  Here it is.

Acronyms

I can't remember who I asked what Pfft means so I'm hoping someone may be able to tell me.  So far I've learnt RAK, SAHM, LO, DH, DD, DS.
We have acronyms everywhere, I know at work I always felt sorry for new employees because they must have thought we were talking a foreign language at times so I'm keen to learn those used in the blogging scrapbooking world.
Thanks in advance.

Technique Learned

I saw this technique in the latest edition Volume 14 No 8 of Scrapbooking Memories and Julie Winks was the lady who inspired me.  I'm finally happy with my effort but don't have anywhere to enter it on a challenge at the moment, maybe next month I'll find somewhere.
And now for a couple of my close-ups.

I've used Bo Bunny 'Mama Razzi Film' patterned paper with Coredinations Core Colour Cardstock.  The embellies are Dusty Attic and ScrapFX chipboard cogs that have been painted, inked and misted, some walnut ink stained gauze, brads, safety pins and handmade flowers (by me).

Love Tags

I've only made three tags and I love them, you can create something small when you don't have the time for a whole page.

Flying Unicorn Tag Challenge

This is my take on the challenge.  I've used small dark red roses which have been misted with Tattered Angels Glimmermist as has the background.  I used Versa mark to wet ink before using three different coloured inks to smudge.  The hearts have been heat embossed with two colours and the gauze has been soaked in walnut ink for a subtle colour.  I handmade the stickpin and added it behind the flowers.  I've used Ranger Liquid Pearls around the circle at the top of the tag.
I wish I could get the glimmer to show up better in a photo because this tag is beautifully shiny.

Thank you to Lizzy & Lizzy

Thank you both for informing me of the acronyms, you both made me smile so it was lovely to open the email this morning.
I'm not sure how to send replies in the best manner so I'm just writing it in a post.  Thanks again. xxx

Word Verification - Arggh!

Do you know how to turn Word Verification off?
I found this explanation over at 'Lets Get Sketchy' http://www.letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au

Go into your “design” tab
Click the “settings” tab
Then click the “comments” tab
Scroll down to “show word verification for comments” and click NO
Then save settings.

I think mine is turned off but you could let me know if it's still there by leaving a comment on this post.
Thank you for reading and I hope this helps as you may not even know if yours is turned on.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Lacing

I created this LO sometime ago and have never had the opportunity to enter it in a challenge but I hope the lacing done at the top of the page suits this challenge.

This was a photo taken at my daughter's wedding five years ago and a lovely make-up artist made me look half OK.
The paper was Bo Bunny and the ribbon, tassels and butterflies were inexpensive and found at stores other than scrapbooking outlets.  I made the outside of the large flower and used a pre-made centre flower to finish off.  For the lacing I punched holes using the Cropodile then threaded/laced the ribbon through the holes.

The Paper Mixing Bowl - Recipe Challenge #3

This was quite a challenge to me because the photos were not the best quality but I had to be involved as my grandmother (I called her Ma) was such a huge part of my life and I miss her everyday.  When her plants or bulbs she gave me come into flower I get the chance to say " hello Ma, nice to see you again this year".  She died in her 93rd year.
I've used Stampin' Up Kraft cardstock with Merci 'Timeless' paper that I've distressed and cut for the weaving and I've stamped the edges with Brilliance Ink.  The large white flower and the bling is from Zva and the cream and pale green flower are handmade by me with antique buttons for the centres.  I've sprayed the flowers with Glimmermist and I've used a Kaisercraft rub-on and clock stamp and the frame at top centre is from RW Laser Cuts.  I applied Ranger Perfect Pearls to the three mounting cards and the frame.  Other products used were ribbon, an old key that reminded me of Ma's house key and Tim Holtz Liquid Pearls in the Title 'Ma".
And now a couple of close-ups.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge

This is my take on this challenge where we had to choose at least four items from the list.  I've used rub-ons, flowers (the large mauve chiffon ones I handmade), the colour purple (my favourite), butterflies and ribbon.  I handmade this tag with some little embellishments from Amy.  I've heat embossed the circle on the tag, handmade a stickpin and covered a ready made tag with some beautiful paper from Stampin' Up.  The large butterfly is from Prima, the bling and rub-on are from Kaisercraft, small roses sprayed with Glimmermist, and I've used a Fiskars border punch.  I also stamped the number 20 before applying Dimensional Magic to give a lovely shiny look.  The beautiful large dark purple flower was purchased from Riot Stores.  The paper collection is from Stampin' Up.
And now a couple of close-ups of my tag and flowers.

Thanks for reading to the end of this fairly long post.

My Very First Tag

This is the tag I made today and I will post tomorrow to show it on the layout I will submit to a challenge.  I've used a Kaisercraft tag and covered it with Stampin' Up paper before inking it with Stampin' Up ink, made a stick pin and embossed an embellishment from the lovely Amy.  I've also used some little butterflies that Amy included in her package to me.

Challenge Me Happy #22

I just love red, black and white for boys and with these colours I like simplicity.  This is my take on the colour combo for the challenge.  I made the little pinwheels and added different brads for the centres.  The little ladybugs were a gift from the lovely Amy in the Netherlands.  The text is Rusty Pickle and the glitter frame is Allison Ellis glitter.  I've distressed the cardstock matt and inked the edges of the photo after sanding slightly.
And now for a couple of close-ups.

This is my cheeky yet loveable little grandson.
