Scrap Friends Colour Palette Challenge

This layout is of my only granddaughter (she's now 13 years old).  I've used DCWV Nanna's Nursery paper collection with American Craft Cardstock and alpha's.  I distressed most edges of the paper and photo mat. The butterfly doily is a Spellbinders die and the other doilies are store bought.  Those beautiful buttons (top right) are a gift from Amy http://amyvoorthuis.blogspot.com.au
I used a chipboard frame from RW Laser Cuts and its been glittered using Alison Ellis glitter.  Don't you just love the little foot and hand within the circle, I found all of them in my stash.

Creative Scrappers #214

I've used Authentique paper collection with ScrapFX title which has been embossed with Opals embossing powder.  I've also used a Stampin' Up! silver frame around the words True Blue and also a star stamp for the background paper.  I distressed some of the card and also used a Martha Stewart punch for the border.  I finally got hold of some washi tape and you can see that on the top left containing the journaling.  The fishtail banner is a Die-namics brand die and the bingo type card is from Kaisercraft. Oh and lastly I used some Tim Holtz distress ink.

Black with Two

I've been waiting to use this layout even though the photo was taken five years ago, I love the sentiment and my beautiful daughter and her family.  I probably like the photo more than the layout.

Daring You to Scrap June Challenge

I've used Kaisercraft paper and large chipboard bird which was inked with Brilliance ink as were the little birds.  The little birdhouse was a gift from Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine and I added some Kindyglitz to highlight the bird.  The beautiful frame is from Dusty Attic and I painted it with Gesso and texture paste before adding some Perfect Pearls and Tattered Angels Glimmermist and Brilliance ink before the final coat of Dimensional Magic.  On the bottom left is a handmade flower and stick pin.  I also sprayed one of the doilies with Glimmermist and I inked the script on the title with a stamp from Stampin Up using Versa Color ink.
Sorry for the long post but I find that sometimes I want to know the products people use on their projects.
I hope you all have a great week of crafting.

The Paper Mixing Bowl - June Challenge

I've used Stampin' Up paper with a lovely page from a very old book called Cassell's Magazine from 1898.  I also used a Kaisercraft transparent clock face with a tiny red brad in the centre, a Making Memories metal buckle, brads, twine and netting from a RAK I won, chipboard brackets that I embossed and painted with Perfect Pearls, some washi type tape on the corners of the photo and a metal paper clip.  I sanded the edge of the photo and distressed the photo mat before adhering to the book page.
My journaling is very special to me and I recently included it in a birthday card to my wonderful husband (I did cheat a bit and searched the internet to help with my wording because I knew what I wanted to say but couldn't put it together).  The hidden journaling was also used in the card I made for his birthday.
I hand stitched the twine border after punching the holes with a paper piercer.

Sorting Photos - Arggh!

  • I've spent the best part of today sorting through photos (thanks to the digital world), I had heaps printed but not in date or any other order so I finally bit the bullet and started to sort.
  • I set the computer next to me and started to open the paper packets to ensure the date was put on them.  Next they went into date order in boxes ready for cross checking on the computer to see if I've missed printing any.
  • The hardest part of sorting is to come - the older photos from film that have previously been misplaced and re-found and also photos people have given me.
Thanks for taking the time to have a read, a bit boring I know because I'd rather be scrapping with so many great challenges this month.
