My Gorgeous Girl

I was inspired today when I saw Lizzy C 's latest post.   I wanted to create today and couldn't get myself motivated until I saw Lizzy's fabulous layout and the sketch that was used.  So here it is.

The colours are not showing up very well, I've just taken the photo and we are in the middle of a storm so maybe I should have waited until I had better light.
I've used:
Kaisercraft Blae & Ivy 6X6 paper pad
Zva Pearl Flourish
Green Tara Flowers
De-Lish Scraps Leaves
Martha Stewart Corner Punch
American Craft Thickers Alpha
Crotchet Flower and Lace from Stash

One for Me

This layout is for me, one of my wedding photos using the kit I purchased from Georgia Heald at Paper Stories.  We were married in April 2000 so both quite a bit thinner back then, my how times change us.
Here's a collage of close-ups I prepared with the help of my friend Lizzy Hill.  Lizzy is a fabulously talented scrapper and she's always coming up with great ideas so have a peek at her blog for some inspiration, you'll find the link above.

Full View of My Own Challenge

This is the full page of a previous post titled My Own Challenge and I decided to enter it in the  Stuck Challenge.  I've turned the sketch to suit my layout.

Victorian Bush Fires

This is an art journal page I've just completed.
I will add journaling to this because I created it after my son and his family,  (seven out of their ten children) were evacuated from their campsite at Cheyne's Bridge between Heyfield and Licola in Victoria late on Thursday night.  They were in a camper trailer and tents so there was a lot to pack up, luckily they had the time to gather all their belongings and get out safely and return to their home. I felt so emotional because I had suggested they visit that camp spot.  The bottom of this page is a serviette of lavender flowers and I thought they resembled trees, the top is a mixture of paint, texture paste over a template of flames then more red, burnt umber and yellow paint.

Dusty Attic

Dusty Attic have a great sketch by the amazing Mistra, pop over and take a peek, you have to include a Dusty Attic piece on your layout.  Here's my interpretation of the sketch.  It's my parents wedding day but unfortunately it only lasted a short time and now they've both passed so I'm not offending anyone by using this original photo (I hope).  The Dusty Attic frame took some punishment from me yesterday as I kept changing my mind and adding more paint or ink and crackle medium.  I used the technique 'Rusty Grunge' I found from Heather that she recently wrote in Scrapbook Creations on my little name plate.
I've used:
Graphic 45, Bird Song and Once Upon a Springtime
Dusty Attic Frame
Green Tara Flowers
Prima Birds
Metal Cross
Cameo from Amy (painted with pearl paint)
Making Memories Alpha
Stampi' Up! Metal Nameplate
Fussy Cutting of birds
Tim Holtz Distressing tool and inks
Liquid Pearls
Crackle Medium
Jo Sonjas paint
Kaisercraft Paint, flowers
Derivan Gesso
Texture Paste
Ribbons from Stash

Thanks for stopping by, I love to hear what you think of my latest layouts - I think I'm changing a bit with each one.

My Own Challenge

I went in to clean and tidy my scrap room today and I got distracted - I set myself a challenge of using something in my stash that I hadn't ever used.  Here's a sneak peek as I might use it for something soon...

From the Vegie Garden

Here's a pic of what I picked from the vegie garden this morning, I just love it when everything is ready for picking then cooking, fresh, fresh , fresh.

Sketchabilities #82

This is the sketch challenge over at Sketchabilities.
This page shows my grandmother dressed in her finery, she loved to dress up and go to the country horse races or to town as she lived in the country.  She didn't have much money so she saved for a long time to try and match her shoes, hat and handbag.  I wish I could get the photos a bit clearer but they were so small in my grandmother's younger years it's difficult to reproduce as I want them.
Now for the close-ups
I've used two of the Graphic 45 collections - Bird Song and A Ladies Diary

Manor House Flower
Green Tara Flowers
Prima Zipper
Dusty Attic Flourishes
Liquid Pearls
Gimmermist
D-Lish Leaves
Metal Trinkets
Kaisercraft Brads
Handmade Felt Hats
Tim Holtz Distressing Tool
Beautiful Lace from my stash
Spellbinders Banner Die
Versa Color Pine Ink
Crackle Medium
Gesso

Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge

This is where you can see the sketch from Scrap Africa.  This is my interpretation of the sketch, the photo I've used is not of good quality as it's quite old and has been scanned and cropped.  I wanted to use it because as you know I lost a good friend on 10 December 2012 to ovarian cancer and this photo is of me, my friend and our daughters.  (I'm in front on the right and my daughter is third from the left, just behind the little dog in the basket).

I've used:
Urban Lily patterned paper
Kaisercraft Mixed Tags and Rhinestones
Green Tara Heritage Flowers
Dylusions Border Stamp
Tim Holtz Ink
Liquid Pearls
Red Heart Trim  from Amy my friend in Holland
Gelly Roller Pen

Get Creative January 1 Challenge

The challenge over at Get Creative  is all about freedom and expressing your thoughts they want you to  journal about the year that passed 2012 and the year to come 2013!.....
They want you to feel free to make a layout with or without a photo....
go crazy with paint or mists collage, stickers, different mediums, pencils, doodling, zentangling.... and the focus is the journalling!...

I began by painting with gesso on white card, then stamping with a script stamp and Staz-on purple ink, the next step was to spray in two different colours, one was Glimmermist Latte and the other Dylusions Blue.  I then sprayed over everything with Pearl Glimmermist.

Ooops! missed a step where I glued some flowers from my stash before the misting.  Once dry I used Liquid pearls for some flower centres and also some pearl paint from Jo Sonjas to highlight some of the petals.

I then stencilled the butterflies and hearts with a really cheap stencil from the Reject Shop (4 for $2).  The little flower stamps around the edge were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and I used a Molotow white pen to journal in 2012, a gel pen was used for 2013.

The chipboard dates and flourishes were first dry embossed before using the Jo Sonjas Pearl paint to highlight the numbers and Liquid Pearls were used for the hearts in the centre of the '0'.  There's a little bit of sheer ribbon with a tiny metal frame hanging from one flourish.

Paint and more paint

This is my latest journal page, I love splashing that paint around, it makes me happy and doesn't need to mean anything.  My stash of stuff just keeps growing, now it's paints and gesso and sealer, the list goes on...

Scrap the Girls #4

I've been trying to find somewhere on Scrap the Girls to load for this challenge, I'm guessing its the holiday break or I'm not looking hard enough.....
Anyway here's my take on Jasmine's recipe challenge where you must use:
Ribbon
Paint/Mist
Circles
Flowers and a Number Title.
This page is about my retirement age and date from the workforce.
I've used Teresa Collins Now & Then patterned paper collection.  I misted the background  which used circles for the clock with Ranger Dylusions ink and I also cut my photo and mounted it on a chipboard circle.  The circle spotted ribbon is amongst the flowers and also around the cute little bird house from Prima Marketing, as is the bird.  The alpha is American Craft Thickers and Amy Tangerine and most of the little ribbon flowers are from Spotlight stores.  I coloured parts of the bird house with pens.  The little cameo is from a RAK I received from the lovely Amy.

Ooops! forgot to add the close-ups yesterday.

Loving this Art Journaling

My heading is a bit contradictory I think because I haven't written anything on these pages, thus no journaling.   I do however remember Broken Hill in Australia when I see this page because a famous artist Pro Hart used to sculpt lots of ants and you can see them everywhere in Broken Hill.
Can you see my little ants?

Skissedilla December Sketch

I've had the best fun today putting this page together, squirting paint and stamping was the BEST.  What made it more exciting was my memory of our stay on Musket Cove in Fiji during the first week of December 2012.  Thanks to my friend Lizzy I found this challenge site, thank heaps Lizzy (though I dislike going up against you), it was a great sketch for one of our holiday pics.
I've used some:
My Memories and Birch Haberdashery Patterned Paper
Kaisercraft and Jo Sonja's Paint
ScrapFX Hibiscus Chippie
American Craft Thickers Alpha
Kindy Glitz
Liquid Pearls
Greeen Tara Flowers
Kaisercraft and Sea Scape Stamp with Staz-on Ink
Date Stamp
I've fussy cut the thongs and mounted them on cardstock and also some shells.
Here is the sketch
