Timeless Beauty

This month over at Kraft it Up is Vintage and I had another photo of my mum from around 1953.  I'm so lucky to have inherited these photos and I've been using the originals, don't know if that's a good thing but I figure they may just sit in a drawer somewhere if I don't use them.

Seam Binding from the Craft Queen
Gorgeous Doily from Lizzy
Prima Alpha from Belinda

A Mini Album for Today

It was really cold today so spent the day messing around with paper!!!  Here's what I came up with, a little mini made from corrugated cardboard covered with some lovely papers that Belinda gave me.
You can see the inside on my facebook page.  Sorry if I'm doubling up too much but I find that I can add more photos over there.

Oops!

This layout is for the mid month challenge at About a Boy.  The challenge was to use White with one other colour.
I thought I'd do a boyish page that didn't include a person and I think this says it all.
I started with white cardstock that I stamped with a combination of inks to get the desired red colour that was on the chipboard frame.  It was difficult to get the right colour because the chipboard was painted but not gessoed so the colour wasn't true.  I used a combination of washi tapes with chipboard cogs (from Dusty Attic) and twine for my embellishments.
So there you have it I used White and Red.

My Beautiful Gorgeous Girls

This one is for the challenge at Orange Paperie & Co and it was to create a monochromatic layout.
I found a photo from a few years ago of my hubby and his girls and it matched so well with the colour I wanted to use.  Lots of the goodies on this layout are from Lizzy Hill and the flourish is from Kate McCulloch, the flourishes can be found at FWAB.  It's a bit hard to see but I have three little roses popping out at the top of the page.
My photography is a bit lacking at the moment, will have to try a bit harder.

Life (Slinky) Scrapbook Savvy

I've used some papers I've had in my stash for a couple of years, a lovely chipboard frame that Shell gave me and some twine from DeLish Scraps.
The doodling around the frame is very different for me, something I'm not comfortable doing but I slipped with the pen while going around the edge so then I had to continue...

First Year at School

For National Scrapbooking Day at Authentique.  The challenge was to use something already created with the wonderful Authentique papers, I love them because of the thickness and texture of them, you really have to try them if you haven't used them already.
As you can see from this layout they have die cuts and also pages that can be cut and used as embellishments - the denim pocket as shown here.

Mother's Day Stall

This one's for the #69 challenge over at CSI.
It's about my six and a half year old grandson and his plan for the school Mother's Day Stall.
Now for the journaling, I wanted to share this because it is so sweet coming from a little boy just for his mum.
My handwriting is awful but others say we should include it from time to time - my mind goes quicker than my hand, it explains the scribble!!!

My Scheme:
Navy around the page
Turquoise Green on the crossword and the CSI co-ordinates
Cardboard colour on the photo matting
Bright Warm Red on photo matting and from the co-ordinates
Light Gray on the co-ordiantes

Mr Evidence:
Houses, Number Accents, the 'key' to our heart as something unexpected, circle graph as an ambellishment.

My Testimony:
Top 10 List, circular spot 'inner glow'
