Amichediscrap - Life Long Friends

My scrappy friend Lizzy Hill is a Guest Designer over at amiche di scrap this month so I thought I'd give their challenge a go - You must use Basic Black cardstock on your layout, here's my interpretation.

I used a stencil and texture paste for the background
and added some gorgeous flairs and tags.
Oh and there are some sequins scattered around the page.

The Scrap Suite - Final Layout

My final layout for the cyber crop at The Scrap Suite.  This one was to use washi tape.  I've used washi tape as I would normally use patterned paper so it's behind the photo and bottom right corner.

I used Kaisercraft Mr Fox embellishments and stamps.

The Scrap Suite - Another One Finished

My fourth layout for The Scrap Suite complete.  It was a sketch this time and this is my interpretation.  I had my Gelatos out and wanted to add them to this page and was inspired by Kathie.  I've used my favourite embellishments, enamel dots, arrow paperclip and also a gorgeous little resin heart I had in my stash.

The Scrap Suite - Next layout

Well I've finished the third challenge at The Scrap Suite which was to use embossing on the page. I've wet embossed the script and the doily stamp and dry embossed the flowers and butterflies along with the tag (difficult to see the sentiment). I finally go to use the beautiful cream heart and some more tiny resin flowers as centres of the large embossed flowers.

The Scrap Suite Cyber Crop

This weekend I'm submitting to the cyber-crop at the Scrap Suite and this challenge was to use purple (Lizzy). Purple is a difficult one for me but I had those fabulous enamel dots and mini flowers so that was my starting point. Another fave is the acrylic butterfly and the flair but I have to admit the enamel dots and the arrow paper clips are my latest buys from D-Lish - love them a lot.

Here's my second page for the cyber crop at the Scrap Suite, D-Lish Scraps.. This challenge was to create your own patterned paper. My patterned paper started as white cardstock before I went to town with stamps and inks. I wanted to mimic the photo hence the chosen colours. Once again I had to use an arrow paper clip and you can see my little hearts to the left of the clip. I've had the glitter bottle for ages and the colour inside was just what I was looking for to add to this page.
I'm off to try another couple, thanks for visiting.

Scrap and Play - 25th

I loved the sketch at Scrap and Play because I really like banners, this is the layout I chose for this month's challenge.  I did however only use one photo instead of three.

Scrap Our Stash - Amazing

I love the challenges at Scrap Our Stash because it makes me go through the stash that I've had for a long time.   This months challenge #18 was called 'Back to School', my layout isn't about school but I've used some things that I've had for ages and not touched.

I've used:
from List A -Chalkboard Paper and a ruled card as a photo mat
from List B -  I've used the paper clips, ruler (as in paper under the photo and also in the bottom left corner) and also the chalkboard embellishment again under the photo and bottom left cluster.  The alpha is a set given to me in a RAK a while ago and a lot of the letters were missing so I chose a title where I could use those still available.

A couple of close-ups.

Off the Rails - He's a Dreamer

This month at Off the Rails there's a beautiful mood board that I just had to give a go.  I was skype scrapping with a friend who got me motivated to enter a challenge so here's my layout.

and here's the mood board
It's beautiful with so many options.
And now for a couple of close-ups.

I used some patterned paper I received as a prize from Greece some time ago together with some gold glitter paper from Bella and some gold washi from D-Lish Scraps.
The glasses have been cut on the Silhouette Machine, the title Alpha is Thickers and the gold spray is Heidi Swapp Color Shine with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Bluey colour and Black Dylusions for the splatters.

It's been a little while since I posted so thought I would put up my latest Art Journal pages.  I had loads of fun created these pages using a couple of stencils, spray inks, gesso, stamps chalk inks, and gold flakes.  I found the quote on Pinterest and I can relate so well to it over the course of my life.

Lets Get Shabby - The Secret Seven

The challenge at Lets Get Shabby was to create a layout drawing inspiration from the front cover of a favourite book from your childhood or even a current book.  Here's mine:
Oooops! got a bit of flashing on the photo.

I took inspiration from the brickwork on the front cover, I punched out my bricks from a Dusty Attic Chipboard piece, covered them with texture paste coloured with paint and then brushed them with Distress Ink before painting a crackle medium over the top.
I've also used flowers from Manor House Creations and Prima Marketing.  The key (cut in half) is from Kaisercraft.

Feeling Sketchy #94

I haven't made cards for so long and this is my second in a short time.

The paper I used was from Kaisercraft 75c Collection.  The second layer was embossed as was the fourth layer, one with a circular pattern the other with script.  I also heat embossed the centre of the circle to reflect like a mirror, liquid pearls were added to the background of the fifth layer.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge - 17

There's a new card challenge site at The Mixed Media Card Challenge, why not pop over and take a peek.  I decided to create a card - something I don't do that often - and even though its mixed media it's still quite CAS.

The background is a Heidi Swapp stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Ink with a couple of embossed layers, one with a Stampin' Up! script stamp and the Kaisercraft Music Note stamp.  The script layer has a pearl embossing powder while the music notes has a mauve embossing powder.  I had the most fun creating the purple square as I used Faber Castell Gelatos with IZink and rubbing alcohol.  The numbers are from Heidi Swapp and they've been sprayed with two colours of Heidi's Color Shine before the Liquid Pearls were added.

Thanks for staying for the long winded description of how the card was created.

Scrap365 - Simply Gorgeous

If you'd like a great sketch challenge this month the team over at Scrap 365 have a beauty.  This is my layout, another of my holiday in Vietnam photos.

Here's the sketch
A couple of close-ups

Products Used:
Fancy Pants Patterned Paper, PL Cards from Becky Higgins - Bliss, Magic Mesh Dots, Ranger Liquid Pearls - Petal Pink and Rouge, Tim Holtz Grunge Board, Epiphany Tool, Prima Liquid Chalk, Silhouette Machine, Sequins, Thread.

I cut the grunge board with the Silhouette using a hexagon template and not to waste the little cut-outs I covered them with Liquid Pearls for some added dimension.  I've also used the Liquid Pearls for dotting around the page.

7 Dots Studio - So Relaxing

At 7 Dots Studio this month the challenge is to used stamps, I've used stamps on the background as well as making my embellishments.

I love all sort of techniques using stamps and so it was out with a background Kaisercraft Script stamp for the background and the large butterfly and a Prima Marketing Hot Air Balloon stamp for an embellishment.  I heat embossed the larger butterfly before attaching a smaller one and the balloons were stamped onto some sprayed patterned paper and then fussy cut.  I added some water colour paint to continue the colour of the butterfly on the frame.

And now a couple of close-ups.

OUAS - Dreamy

This layout is a little bit different for me at the moment, it has flowers included and I haven't been that interested in using them lately.  I thought they went well with the current sketch at Once Upon a Sketch.  This is one of the photos taken on our holiday to Vietnam last year.

and now for a couple of close-ups.

I've used some mixed media combined with products from Prima, Kaisercraft and Heidi Swapp.  Thanks Belinda Scott for the beautiful handmade flowers I received in you RAK.

Just for Me

I watched an amazing Youtube video by Georgia Heald this morning and thought I would try to scraplift it because I was so inspired, she's amazing. I had a fabulous day playing with papers from Bo Bunny and Kaisercraft collectables and wood veneer. I also used various stamps (some re-discovered in my stash), different sprays, inks and pens, it was fun. Here's a pic of the finished layout - thanks Georgia for the inspiration.

Please feel free to scroll down to two other posts I've added today - I've been busy.

123 Challenge - Together

Another great challenge over at 123 Challenge this month, here's my interpretation.

As you can see I've used different blues over my layout and the stencil/masking is on the background as well as the brighter blue arrows.  The word is also scattered across the layout, it was 'together'.
This is a favourite photo of a very close friend who lives on a farm and has two sons who ride motorbikes as well as the farm bikes.  I love seeing their boots lines up together - mum's are the purple gumboots - just in case you hadn't realised.

LESSology #37 - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

This month at LESSology they have a challenge to use an animal and something upcycled.
I've used a photo I love, taken from a holiday to Vietnam last year, and I've used buttons from my mother's button box.  My mum used to cut the buttons off garments before they were discarded for rags.  Even the thread was from an old reel of cotton from yesteryear.

paperdvizhnik - COOL

One of my scrappy friends recommended this challenge site so thought I would give their Challenge #43 Colour Board a go.  You can find them at paperdvizhnik.  Here's my interpretation of the challenge.

and here's the colour board

I started by laying some plasterer's tape down before applying the Faber Castell Gelatos.  The papers used are 13@rts and We Are Memory Keepers PL cards.  I also used a Flutterbys Flair, a Prima wood veneer camera, Dusty Attic Chipboard and some everyday cotton.

Scrap the Boys - My First Chocolate

This month Scrap the Boys have a fabulous challenge for those who want to get Messy & Grungy.  I chose a messy photo to play along with this challenge and had fun with inks but also a little bling with a few sequins.  I love the Kaisercraft stamps I've used here, the border grungy  film strip and he circle, also the yellow grunge stamp.  The papers are from Authentique.
